Dozens of local businesses discovered more about Diversey when we organised a special community day at our Northampton site on Friday 22 October. In addition to seeing some of our latest innovations and market-leading products, visitors were able to take away samples of cleaning products to use.
The event was organised by the marketing team as a way to offer support and build closer relationships with local businesses as the Covid-19 pandemic enters another critical phase. Publicity before the event using the local radio and newspaper and on social media generated excellent interest. Those who called in during the day included people from local bars and restaurants, cafes, care homes, children's nurseries, self-employed cleaners, and event organisers. Diversey is one of the largest employers in the area and many of its workforce visit and use the services of local businesses and know people who work in them.
?We organised the event to offer support to local businesses who have been through such a tough time over the last year and a half,? says Lynne Snoding. ?Our aim was to offer advice and support and give away some free products to help them cope with their extra cleaning and hygiene requirements. Companies that came along included many who were discovering Diversey for the first time. It was a really successful day.?
Inevitably there was a lot of interest in Diversey's products for hand hygiene and surface disinfection. During the pandemic, businesses have recognised that these are two of the most effective ways to protect customers and employees by breaking the chain of infection and stop the spread of illnesses such as Covid-19.
Visitors were able to see at first-hand innovative products such as the Oxivir range of cleaner-disinfectants and wipes. These have been widely used by organisations during the Covid-19 pandemic because their broad-spectrum performance makes them effectives against a wide range of pathogens, including the virus that causes the illness. Another product that generated a lot of interest was the Moonbeam3 Disinfection Technology device. Widely used in hospitals and similarly demanding settings, Moonbeam3 utilises powerful UV-C light to offer a new way to provide fast broad area disinfection of high-touch surfaces. Diversey hand hygiene and disinfection products are widely used in the NHS and long-term care sectors as well as hospitality, retail, and many other sectors.
Among the selection of advanced floorcare equipment on show was the new TASKI swingo 250?icro scrubber drier. This is a lightweight and mobile micro scrubber drier that combines floor scrubbing, mopping, and drying in a single design to offer a highly productive one-pass cleaning alternative to traditional floorcare processes in facilities of any size.
Many visitors were also interested in the SURE range of plant-based cleaning products that were recently awarded Gold certification by the Cradle-to-Cradle Products Innovation Institute. SURE products are also EU Ecolabel certified, another highly regarded sustainability accreditation. Products in the range cover all routine and daily cleaning requirements in kitchens and washrooms including personal care.
Also showcased was Diversey's comprehensive Zenith Washroom Service that offers a fully managed washroom for a fixed monthly fee. The service is tailored to a customer's unique requirements using products from Diversey's own range and equipment from other suppliers. Passing the management of this critical function to a specialist removes a significant burden from a business while enabling better cost control with enhanced results. This helps to reassure customers and enhance the reputation of the business.
Many of the small businesses who attended the event are ideal users of the Pro Formula range. This complete set of easy-to-use cleaning products is designed for smaller businesses to complete routine and common problem-solving tasks quickly and economically with excellent results. The range combines professional formulations from Diversey with trusted brands from Unilever including Persil, Cif, Comfort, Domestos, and Sun. These products ? in ready-to-use or other convenient packs - are not available in conventional retail outlets or supermarkets. In addition to delivering great results they are ideal for high-visibility and front-of-house cleaning tasks where using products that are familiar to customers will offer an additional layer of confidence and reassurance that the business takes cleaning seriously.
Diversey had invited the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc), which is also based in Northampton, as special guests for the day. The team from BICSc offers a number of training and support services to cleaning professionals across the UK and often works with Diversey. The community event offered an ideal opportunity for the BICSc team to highlight its services.
'the day was so successful that we are hoping to hold a similar event before Christmas,? says Lynne Snoding. ?For many businesses, these coming months are their most critical period and especially so this year because of the disruption of the past 18 months. We want to give them the support they need to succeed.?
