Diversey's funded peer review on floor hygiene investigated the relationship between pathogen contamination of floors in healthcare facilities with the potential for transmission of pathogens that can result in human infection
The study found that pathogenic microorganisms are commonly found on floors in healthcare facilities, these floors are often more frequently contaminated than the hand contact surfaces in the same room, and studies have shown the potential for pathogens on healthcare floors to be transferred to hand contact surfaces in the room and to other patient rooms. Diversey is currently performing research on the best methods to decontaminate floors and expects to publish the results later this year.
