The Eden Project has selected hand hygiene products from Diversey, supplied through Alliance, for the washrooms at its world-famous biome site in Cornwall. Alliance is supplying 170 of Diversey's IntelliCare hand-hygiene dispensers for use with Soft Care Sensitive hand soap. These will be used by staff and thousands of visitors each day to clean their hands safely using sustainably-certified products. The Eden Project chose the products because they offered an excellent combination of performance, cost-in-use, and sustainability.
Sustainability is at the heart of what the Eden Project is all about and is a major part of the message it hopes to convey. The major visitor destination, opened in 2001, is nestled in a huge crater near St Austell and now welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. Its massive biomes house the largest rainforest in captivity, stunning plants, and exhibitions. They are a backdrop to contemporary gardens, summer concerts and year-round family events.
Working together Alliance and Diversey approached Eden Project to offer trial products and dispensers for onsite evaluation. The two businesses were able to demonstrate the strength of their joint offering, with excellent products delivering sustainability benefits that matched Eden Project's ethical and environmental policies. They were also able to show how their efficient supply chain could deliver results with lower cost-in-use and potential overall savings.
The trial arranged by Alliance and Diversey was a success and Eden Project made the decision to switch providers. In addition to the performance of the products, the buying team was impressed by the total package proposed by Alliance and Diversey. This included supplying the dispensers free of charge.
The IntelliCare hand care system from Diversey helps facilities to improve infection prevention and hand hygiene compliance. The unique design of the dispenser helps maintain uninterrupted availability of soaps and foams. It also delivers a correct and consistent amount of product during each use to prevent wastage. Products are supplied in 1.3-litre pouches containing more doses than conventional systems. This extends the interval between replacements, saving operators time and money. It also helps reduce the risk of product running out so that users can wash their hands whenever they want. Standard-sized pouches across the Soft Care range supports total flexibility to choose the right formulation for specific requirements. The tamper-proof design utilises less plastic per millilitre of product than alternatives. All materials are fully recyclable.
At the Eden Project, IntelliCare will be used with Diversey's Soft Care Sensitive. This is a mild hand wash with the Nordic Swan sustainability accreditation. It is a fragrance-free, dye-free formulation with a balanced pH for sensitive skins. It offers an ideal solution for settings where frequent washing is required and healthy hands are desired. The advanced formulation contains ingredients that are biodegradable and ethically sourced. It provides excellent moisturising capabilities, leaving hands feeling healthy and clean.
