Scripset copolymer resins are multipurpose polymeric resins. They promote water resistance, adhesion, strength, durability, flexibility and heat resistance.

The resins are commonly used in bottle label adhesives and photoresist coatings for circuit boards. They can also be used to enhance the finished properties of paper, inks, coatings, pigment dispersions, adhesives and latex gloves. Their dual-solubility characteristics offer unique formulating capabilities for the removal of bottle labels during recycling and the clean rinsing of photoresist coatings.

Scripset copolymer resins deliver several benefits including:

Improved adhesion and adhesion removal

Improved flexibility

Greater product quality

Improved scuff resistance

Enhanced temperature stability

Improved water resistance

Product Attributes

Scripset polymer adhesives are produced by the copolymerization of styrene and maleic anhydride and its ester derivatives. The resins have the following key attributes:

Contain both anhydride and carboxylic functionality and may be used alone or with other polymers

Are available with molecular weights ranging from 105,000 to 350,000

Are available with varying ratios of styrene to maleic anhydride, enabling broad formulating capabilities

Include both hydrophobic and hydrophilic polymers in the copolymer, providing surfactant-like properties

Contain no formaldehyde, VOCs or APEs/NPEs

Scripset resins are available as free-flowing powders that are soluble in alkali and many solvent systems. Pre-blended solutions are also available and contain sodium hydroxide or ammonium hydroxide. Solution products are sold under the imPress™ brand.
